I recently completed an MSc. in Creative Advertising (graduated November 2016) at Dublin Institute of Technology. I also hold a BA. in Film Studies and French from Trinity College Dublin. I am currently working as a copywriter/online content creator for personal finance website bonkers.ie. 

 

I have a passion for all things media and spent the summer of 2016 researching and writing a dissertation exploring the impact of digital on the craft and competencies required for effective copywriting in Ireland.

Copywriter & Online Content Creator - bonkers.ie

March 2017 - present

 

As part of the communications team at bonkers.ie, I write daily content on news from the world of personal finance for the site's blog. I also feature in, and help with the production of LIVE Facebook Q&A sessions among other things.  

 
Copywriting Intern - eightytwenty

November 2016 - March 2017  

 

As a copywriting intern at eightytwenty I worked primarily on SIRO, Aldi Ireland and Universal Pictures Ireland. I assisted in coming up with ideas for interesting content as well as writing social content across a variety of social media platforms for each account. 

 

 

Copywriting Intern - Chemistry 

December 2016 (3 weeks)

 

I was offered a three week paid internship with Chemistry in late 2016. While there I worked in partnership with a junior art director primarily on a health and safety campaign for the office of government procurement. 

 

 
Copywriting Intern - Irish International 

April 2016 (2 week placement as part of MSc.)

 

Worked as part of a creative team with an art director on Virgin Media (Digital); Newstalk (Press Ad); IDA (Event DM invitation) and Eirgrid (Press Ad).

 

Transcriber

September 2014 - present

 

Work on a freelance basis transcribing for a number of different companies including Hamilton Secretarial Services. Requires proficient typing skills, a keen ear, attention to detail, excellent grammar skills.

 

 

Barmaid - The King's Inn

January 2015 - January 2016

 

Provided table and bar service in a popular local inn. Duties included order taking, serving drinks and snacks and general bar upkeep. 

 

 

Phone Operator - Lee's Kitchen

October 2014 - September 2015

 

Handled all incoming orders and transactions to the takeaway whether by phone or in person. Required great communication and interpersonal skills, ability to tally bills quickly and accurately, good, reliable memory.

 

Waitress - Akathor 

Summer 2014

 

Provided quick, efficient and friendly table service in a tourist sports bar during the peak summer season. Duties included drinks and tapas table service, assistance in opening and closing every day, restroom upkeep and cleaning the premises. Required bilingual ability (French and English), keep a level head, prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently and to communicate effectively with a team of international co-workers especially during very busy periods, such as during the 4 weeks of the FIFA World Cup.

 

Market Research Telephone Interviewer - Ipsos MRBI

November 2013 - March 2014

 

Conducted a variety of different nationwide market research surveys via telephone with members of the general public. Required strong and effective communication skills that were essential to establishing rapport quickly with interviewees, in order to meet and often exceed quotas for successfully completed surveys.

 

Co-Editor - Trinity Film Review 

March 2013 - March 2014

 

Working with my co-editor, we headed up the overall production and distribution of Ireland’s only student run quarterly film magazine. Duties included the delegation of roles amongst staff, liaison with film distributors and printers, the managing and negotiation of advertising sales and production costs, appointment of student writers, editing and proof reading submissions.


Trinity Film Review was shortlisted for Best Magazine at the 2013 National Student Media Awards.

 

Waitress - Pete's Tavern NYC

Summer 2013

 

Situated in the heart of Manhattan, the city’s oldest bar and restaurant, boasting three dining rooms, an outside dining terrace as well as a 30 foot bar, Pete’s Tavern was constantly busy with a steady flow of customers.Here, maintaining a level of quality customer service 

satisfaction at all times was of paramount importance, especially in high pressure, rush times. This required excellent teamwork and communication among the 30+ staff members.

 

Production Manager - Links to the Past

December 2012 - May 2013

 

Duties included assembling, polishing and shipping rhodium plated old coin cufflinks to customers around the world. Provided administrative support and customer care for any enquiries made by telephone or email. Required ability to self direct/work without support; attention to detail and keen time management skills.

 

Web Editor - Trinity Film Review

March 2012 - March 2013

 

Before being promoted to co-editor-in-chief at TFR I acted as web-editor as well as a regular writing contributor to the magazine for 2 years. Duties included; writer selection, distribution of press screenings, heading all email correspondence for the magazine, running the magazine’s online blog, Facebook and Twitter page as well as being responsible for the review section of the printed edition of the magazine.
